All Metra lines travel to downtown Chicago. There are six stations that are in or next to The Loop. Learn more about each station below.

Ogilvie Transportation Center

The Ogilvie Transportation Center or OTC is just west of The Loop near the Chicago River. Metra trains on the Union Pacific North, Northwest and West stop at this station. The closest CTA station if you need to transfer is Washington/Wells CTA Station on the brown, pink, orange and purple lines. A Chicago water taxi stop is also nearby for service to River North, Riverwalk, Michigan Avenue, Goose Island, Chicago Avenue and Chinatown during the warmer months.

Union Station

About two blocks away from the OTC, the ornate Union Station is also across the river from The Loop. Trains on the BNSF, SouthWest Service, North Central Service, Heritage Corridor and Milwaukee District North and West use this station. Walk across the river to reach Willis Tower and the closest CTA station, Quincy.

LaSalle Street Station

Just south of The Loop, the LaSalle Street Metra Station services trains on the Rock Island line. The LaSalle/Van Buren CTA Station is a short walk away for an easy transfer.

Millennium Station

The Millennium Station is next to Millennium Park, Cloud Gate, Jay Pritzker Pavilion and the Chicago Cultural Arts Center. Only trains on the Metra Electric District line stop here. Additionally, South Shore trains also use this station, but are not operated by Metra. The Lake and State/Lake CTA stations are a short walk away from transfer to all CTA lines except blue.

Van Buren Street Station

Also on the Metra Electric District and South Shore lines, Van Buren Street Station is near the Art Institute of Chicago and Buckingham Fountain. The closest CTA stations are Jackson Red and Adams/Wasbash.

Museum Campus/11th Street Station

Last but not least, the Museum Campus/11th Street Station is south of The Loop and is near The Field Museum, Shedd Aquarium and Adler Planetarium. The Roosevelt CTA station is a short walk away if you need to transfer to CTA.
