The CTA purple line travels north from downtown Chicago to Evanston near the lake. Many stations on the purple line overlap with red and brown, so it is easy to transfer across the city.

Schedule

The purple line operates from approximately 4 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekdays and from 5 a.m. to 1 a.m. on weekends. During weekday rush hour, some purple lines also travel express to downtown Chicago from the Howard Station and from Merchandise Mart to Linden. Frequency is every 8 to 15 minutes depending on time of day and day of the week.

Parking

Parking is available at the Linden and Howard CTA Stations on the north side of Chicago.

Accessibility

The following purple line stations in the Loop ARE NOT handicap accessible: Central, Noyes, Foster, Dempster, Main, South Blvd, Wilson, Sheridan, State/Lake, Randolph/Wabash, Adams/Wabash, LaSalle/Van Buren and Quincy.
