Andersonville is a historically Swedish neighborhood north of downtown Chicago. A commercial district on N. Clark Street is full of restaurants and shops, while charming side streets are full of apartments, condos and single-family homes.

Things to Know

  • There are two CTA stations on the red line that are near Andersonville: Berwyn and Bryn Mawr
  • Walking time is about 11 minutes to N. Clark Street (center of the neighborhood) from either station
  • Midsommarfest is the annual neighborhood festival in June

CTA Directions

If traveling from downtown Chicago, board a red line train marked ‘Howard’. You can transfer between the blue and red lines at the Jackson or Monroe stations. Other convenient transfer locations from other rail lines include State/Lake (not handicap accessible), Belmont (brown and purple line connections) and Roosevelt (orange and green connections).

From the Berwyn CTA Station, walk toward GNC and Jewel Osco on Berwyn Avenue. From Bryn Mawr, walk toward the green awnings and Dunkin Donuts on Bryn Mawr Avenue. Use Google Maps to get specific transit and walking directions from your starting location.
