Exit at the Monroe Red or Monroe Blue CTA stations if your starting point is on the red or blue line or if you need a handicap-accessible station. For accessibility on other rail lines, use Harold Washington Library.
Use Google Maps to get specific transit and walking directions from your starting location.
The Van Buren Street Station on the Metra Electric District and South Shore lines is next to the museum. If you are not traveling on the Electric District train, head to downtown Chicago and transfer to CTA rail or request on Uber or Lyft car to reach the museum.
Two Divvy Bike docks are on S. Michigan Avenue on both sides of the Art Institute. There’s also a dock next to the Adams/Wabash Station.
