Chicago City Hall is in the Loop at 121 N LaSalle Drive near several CTA stations. Major city offices are at this location including the Office of Mayor, City Clerk and alderman offices. An award-winning green roof is on top of the building, but it’s not open to the public.
Things to Know
- This is an easy rail commute.
- Nearby stations include Clark/Lake, Washington/Wells and Washington CTA stations (all lines except red)
- The closest red-line station is Lake.
- Washington is the closest CTA station to City Hall, but it’s the only nearby station that is not handicap-accessible.
Take any train except red to the Clark/Lake Station for the easiest commute. If you are traveling on the blue line, use Washington for the shortest walk if you are able to climb up and down stairs.
From the red line, exit at Lake and use the underground Pedway to walk to the Washington Station only if you don’t need handicap-accessibility. Otherwise, head to street level at Lake.
