Hyde Park is a historic Chicago neighborhood south of downtown that contains the Museum of Science and Industry and the University of Chicago. Getting to the area requires taking a commuter train to one of three stations on the Metra Electric District and South Shore lines: 51st/53rd, 55th/56th/57th or 59th Street station.

CTA Transfer to Metra/South Shore

Use the Millennium Metra Station or Van Buren Street Metra Station in Grant Park to travel to Hyde Park. Trip time on the train is only 15 minutes.

The Randolph/Wabash CTA Station in the Loop is closest to the Millennium Station. Walk east toward The Loft and LA Fitness after exiting the CTA train.

If you need a handicap-accessible station, use the Harold Washington Library Station (orange, brown, pink, purple) or Jackson Red CTA stations to reach the Van Buren Street Metra Station via Van Buren Street, walking against the one-way car traffic.
