Lollapalooza is large music festival in Chicago’s Grant Park with a variety of bands, art market, food from local restaurants and a family-friendly concert area. The festival stretches from approximately Monroe Street south to near the Museum Campus, with several CTA stations and a Metra/South Shore station in walking distance.
Things to Know
- The main entrance to Lollapalooza is on W. Congress Parkway near Buckingham Fountain and the Jackson (Red), Jackson (Blue) and Harold Washington Library station (brown, orange, pink and purple lines).
- Another entrance is on Monroe Street near the Monroe (Red), Monroe (Blue) and Adams/Wabash (all other lines).
- If you need the box office, it is at S. Michigan and E. Van Buren near the Jackson stations and Harold Washington Library.
Walk east to reach the park from all above stations. Use Google Maps to get specific walking directions from your starting location using the transit option or the walking option (which you can use once you arrive in the Loop).
The Van Buren Street Metra/South Shore Station is next to the festival, a shorter walk than from CTA. This station is only useful if you’re near the Electric District or South Shore line that runs south of downtown.
