Metra’s North Central Service (NCS) line is one option for traveling to or from O’Hare International Airport. If your start or end destination is convenient to this railway, use the O’Hare Transfer Metra Station to connect with the airport via shuttle.

Things to Know

  • Commute time to and from downtown Chicago via the OTC Station is about 40 minutes plus shuttle time
  • The O’Hare CTA Station is in the airport itself, so it is a faster option if you are traveling to or from downtown
  • North Central Service stops in cities including Antioch, Lake Villa, Round Lake Beach, Grayslake, Libertyville, Mundelein, Vernon Hills, Buffalo Grove, Wheeling, Prospect Heights, Franklin Park and River Grove.

Board a NCS train and travel to O’Hare Transfer. Wait for the shuttle bus, which drops off passengers at ATS, the airport’s 24-hour rail service that connects with terminals 1, 2, 3 and 5.
